Todmorden is located on the Lancashire/West Yorkshire boundary in the UK and is home to Incredible Edible Todmorden. There is a map available showing The Incredible Todmorden Way! which I followed on my visit to the town.
Incredible Edible Todmorden is a beautiful example of edible spaces in a town. You will see these edible spaces as you walk around: raised beds alongside the canal, the beautiful mural on Pollination Street, the edible beds outside of the Police Station, the nearby herb beds on the walk along to the park or the pots on the platform of the railway station.
It is a wonderfully simple idea. Residents grow herbs, fruit and vegetables around the town and then shares them. The edible spaces are clearly labelled, so you know what is in season and ready to harvest. You can easily walk around the whole trail in the morning and then call into one of the many eating establishments in town for some well-earned refreshment.
If you are in the area this weekend, then you can go along to the Todmorden food festival which is taking place on Saturday 10th September 2016.
