Bedford Fields Forest Garden Diary

October was mild and gentle this year contributing to a mellow and gradual change in the Forest Garden at Bedford Fields. October was spent mulching beds, coppicing hazel for a trellis on the cabins, creating some raised beds next to the cabin, putting up the new notice board at the entrance to the garden and getting prepared for the November Apple Day celebrations.

There were some beautiful toadstools this autumn and some other creatures who were looking for somewhere to hibernate

We spent some time creating a raised bed on the outside of one of the cabins.

Which we came back and filled with soil and strawberry plants. We will be adding climbers at a later date.

The new notice board at the front entrance is now complete.

And the garden is slow to change across the weeks.
