I wake up and find myself walking in the present moment and observing what is around me. Here is the humility to be with whatever and whoever is now — a fleeting ability to notice without judging.
These sights, sounds and feelings are perturbing. Be with it, notice it and let it go. Be grateful to the lady who helped you learn some more Lao language this morning. It was kindness and brought joy to a simple interaction between us.
Each element of the day has a quality. Be it walking, observing, smiling, an openness to requests or offers. I am becoming thoughtful and diligent about declarations and promises.
Slower, to enjoy each mouthful of breakfast. Acknowledgement of the miracle of food. Food sown, nurtured, grown, picked, shipped, prepared and presented. In gratitude of all the flavours and textures this meal affords. Slowly, sipping tea.
Simple actions completed mindfully and with a smile. Today I am visible and okay showing up in the world. Courteous and polite. Listen deeply to what is enough.
